“Nascentia” is a diptych composed of two individually conceived yet interconnected artworks—on the left, “Shadows of Fear” by Kasia Uminska, and on the right, “Lights of Freedom” by Aleksandra Vlajkovic. Each piece represents a unique personal story; however, when presented side by side, they unify into a shared vision. A uterus-shaped form made of branches anchors the composition, symbolizing creation and the metamorphosis of two female figures—from fear to empowerment. A symbolic braid links the characters across time and space, while other symbols reflect the artists’ personal journeys and the power of unity and creativity, capturing the essence of growth through collaboration and shared human experience. Through Nascentia, part of the Connections Art Project, the artists merge their individual visions into one cohesive story—an exploration of inner evolution, creative strength, and human interconnectedness.
