In this body of work, I examine the relationship between power, violence, and the fragility of justice. The paintings depict imagined figures of power whose distorted appearances emerge through flames. Fire functions both as a visual device and as a symbol of political unrest, social conflict, and collective anger. These figures are not portraits of specific individuals. Rather, they represent systems of privilege and authority that allow certain people to operate beyond accountability. Through warped forms and unstable surfaces, the paintings question how power shapes public perception, obscures responsibility, and creates distance between those who govern and those who live with the consequences of their decisions. Although inspired by experiences of political violence, the work is not tied to any single nation, culture, or historical event.
