Categories
TARTGET is a competition open to all styles, painting techniques, and themes. The participating artworks span the entire spectrum of creative paths, from hyperrealism to abstraction. Likewise, they may embrace any content and expression.
In order to ensure that all disciplines receive their due recognition, the organization has established various pathways toward the prizes; these pathways must be carefully observed when submitting the artwork for registration.
The MAIN CATEGORIES encompass six distinct themes, in addition to the Young Category for artists under 25. Those who select one of these categories will be eligible for the GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE TARGETS, the BEST OF CATEGORY award, any acquisition prizes, and awards for fine arts material, promotion, or training.
The FUSION CATEGORIES group together abstract, conceptual, and collage works. Those who select one of these categories will be eligible for the FUSION TARGET, the BEST OF CATEGORY award, any acquisition prizes, and awards for fine arts material, promotion, or training.
The TECHNICAL CATEGORIES present two exclusive awards: the DRAWING TARGET and the WATERCOLOR TARGET. These accolades are exclusive but not mutually exclusive. For instance, only a watercolor painting can vie for the Watercolor Target, but that very same piece can also aspire to the GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE, or the FUSION TARGET if it happens to be an abstract watercolor.
Example of Entry
For example, you may submit a landscape executed in watercolor and nominate it solely for the WATERCOLOR TARGET (€50). If you also select the “Natural Landscapes” category tab (an additional €30), you will be aspiring to both the watercolor prize and the GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE TARGETS. In both scenarios, you will also be eligible for acquisition prizes and awards for material, promotion, or training.
