This painting was inspired by a walk just before a storm. The surrounding fields are part of my regular walking route and I am endlessly fascinated by the ever-changing clouds, sunlight, and their effects on the landscape. The striking contrast between the bright, cheerful yellow rapeseed fields and the enormous storm cloud about to unleash a dramatic cloudburst created a powerful and unforgettable scene. Standing before it, I felt both captivated and humbled by the wild energy and beauty of nature.
