This work focuses on children under the shadow of war. Through the strong contrast between the red dress, poppies and a prosthetic limb, it condemns the destruction of life caused by war and expresses a sincere longing for peace. In the painting, a girl in a red dress stands on a blood-stained shore, holding a poppy flower in one hand and a prosthetic limb in the other, creating a sharp contrast. Historically, the poppy carries a metaphor of evil and crime; it is a symbol of the opium trade, war plunder, conflict and trauma. The prosthetic limb directly reflects the physical and mental destruction of children by war. Through this visual metaphor, I hope to break the misconception that "war is far away", make more people see the broken childhood in the flames of war, and hear their yearning for peace. May the blood-stained shore return to its blue serenity, and may the evil connotation of the poppy be completely dissipated, so that it can become a symbol of peace and hope.
