Every year, I return to the northern coast of Spain, where mountains meet the sea in a landscape of striking purity. This plein air painting captures that encounter, bringing together the sea, the towering mountains, begining of a pocket beach and a pilgrim road on top. Each presence shares the same space, expressing a quiet sense of belonging. Turquoise waters are illuminated by shifting light breaking through the mountain peaks, creating a dynamic interplay of brightness and shadow. The scene reflects the spontaneity of nature, where rain, sun, coastline, and deep sea can coexist in a single moment.
