The patina on this pot with the cool blue hue, pushing it’s way past the warmer dark greys and browns, drew me in right away with a simplicity mixed with its reality, and it keeps me reminded of the wisdom and unsung beauty of age. I complemented it by adding what looks like the remnants of what was a bouquet of flora, and all to be left was a few hibernating blooms from the Queen Anne’s lace. It only seemed fitting to organize this ordinary regal pot atop a lime stone bed rock displayed over a neatly folded linen, accompanied by a strange little geology that had no business in finding its way there. Backed by a wall of stately marble, a waterfall of warm paisley colours and Indian storytelling wash their way down through the collection, adding a balance of warm visual context to allow for the viewer to narrate its own adventure with this elemental play.
