This painting celebrates the majesty, vitality, and magnetic presence of one of nature’s most extraordinary creatures. Through the vibrant dialogue between luminous reds and rich greens, the macaw becomes a symbol of tropical exuberance and quiet nobility. Its gaze invites the viewer beyond the beauty of color and plumage, suggesting an inner world of strength, wisdom, and spirit. My watercolor process is rooted in a structural shadow approach. Rather than beginning with color, I first establish the underlying architecture of shadows that defines form, depth, and movement. Transparent layers of color are then built upon this foundation, allowing the pigments to retain their luminosity while enhancing volume and presence. Inspired by Brazil’s tropical wildlife, this work explores the balance between power and grace, revealing a brilliance that seems to emerge from within.
