For over twenty years, I have painted self-portraits as a form of documentation and reflection. What began instinctively has developed into an ongoing examination of time and its effects on the body. While identity feels constant, its physical presence shifts. This work explores that tension between continuity and change, recording the subtle but persistent evidence of ageing—something I feel more acutely now than at the outset. My focus is drawn to nuance, particularly within shadow, where detail softens and a more unguarded truth can emerge.
