Hidden within the greenery are the songs of native New Zealand birds, thriving in bushland nourished by fallen, decaying logs and the rich ecosystem they sustain. In my abstract expressionist work, Bird Song, the birds themselves remain unseen; only splashes of black paint suggest their fleeting presence among the foliage.
