In my work “Seilschaft”, I explore the tension between community and individuality, between reality and perception. The rope team symbolizes human connectedness – cooperation, trust, but also dependence. The figures are rendered in black and white to emphasize both timelessness and emotional distance. Their anonymity reflects the collective nature of the group rather than individual identity. The reflections in their goggles disrupt this anonymity: they reveal another, colorful reality – an inner or perhaps illusory dimension. The abstract, dynamic background contrasts deliberately with the grey figures, representing energy, chaos, and transformation – everything that stirs beneath the seemingly ordered surface. By combining acrylic, oil, and oxidized metal, I seek to express materiality and impermanence. The metal stands as a metaphor for time and change – it breathes, oxidizes, and ages.
