This work plays on the tension between armour and drapery - materials historically coded as masculine and feminine. Chainmail, a symbol of protection and warfare, is reimagined here as something soft, weighted, and intimate against the nude body. Draped rather than worn, it becomes both adornment and burden. I was interested in how strength and vulnerability coexist, and how the body carries both. The figure does not perform or defend, but holds the weight with quiet resolve. By shifting armour into the language of the nude, the work questions who protection belongs to, and how it is embodied, worn, and felt.
