his is the first painting I completed in my small new studio in Bienne, Switzerland. The past couple of years have brought many changes. I moved from Brazil with my pregnant wife, and soon after, the birth of our son Vittorio transformed our lives with new challenges, routines, and joys. Painting also took on a new meaning and a new pace. After almost two years in the region, we have finally settled into a peaceful yet vibrant neighbourhood, making new friends and enjoying the arrival of spring. The small Art Deco statue was found in a second-hand furniture and antique shop, along with other pieces that helped make our new place feel like home. I added fallen leaves and small branches gathered from the trees along my path to the studio. This painting brings together fragments of a new life that finally seems to have found a peaceful rhythm. For me, it is a reminder to keep hope alive and remain grateful.
