Maze of the Mind explores the human mind as a complex landscape where thoughts, emotions, memories, and imagination continuously intersect. Alongside its luminous dimensions, the mind also contains fear, trauma, and disappointment—traces left by lived experience. The series is inspired by the marks created by wood-boring insects beneath a tree’s bark. These traces originate in damage, yet they form intricate and unique patterns. This paradox became a central metaphor for the work: the mind, like the tree, carries the imprint of its wounds, but those same wounds can shape unexpected forms of beauty, resilience, and growth. Through interwoven lines, layered colour, and shifting contrasts, the paintings visualize the coexistence of order and chaos, vulnerability and strength. Maze of the Mind reflects on the human capacity to transform inner complexity into meaning, revealing how light can emerge not despite our scars, but through them.
