The series is called Abstract Dot. The dot is not a design element that is supposed to add something special to the whole. The dot is essential. This is actually what it is about. This dot shows that nothing more needs to be said about these works. The paintings already speak enough to you, or they don't. However, every explanatory word on my part can only take away, can only diminish, can only reduce the potential and vocabulary, and thus take away the work's possibilities and power. The paint is not poured, but is allowed to flow slowly and gently, finding its way. I paint spontaneously and intuitively, but not just following a feeling; it is more an emotion that wants to be captured. On the content level, my pictures can be described as abstract symbolism. On the formal level, as sublime or liminal object-like flowing images. Liminal object-like, due to the dreamlike way in which the bodies present themselves, caught in a threshold space, not quite here, not quite there either.
