"Bhikkhu" Cambodian Monk. While in Cambodia I was in awe watching the monks. Their lifestyles are shaped to support their spiritual practices, to have a simple life, meditative in order to attain Nirvana. It was Buddha, who established the tradition of the ordained monastic community, establishing the order of Bhikkus. They were orange robes of all amazing hues. The incense stick is a sensory representation of the holiness of their prayer absorbing the energy of the good scent. The aroma cleans the space for inner and outer journeys. Burning incense is a sign of reverence and dedication to worshipping their deities and ancestors.
