The image depicts Gaea the Goddess of the earth reclining. This painting addresses the much-used image of the reclining nude female throughout art history. My interpretation is of a female nude seen from three angles at once. The juxtaposition of the three images can create more than more figures when viewing from different angles. The movement of the lines is very important creating their own abstraction. The movement of the different angles of the heads, hands, legs and feet create a form of composition in relation to music. This creates a three-dimension image within the picture plane. The painting was retouched and updated in 2024.
