Pride is a character I created based off my meditations on the seven deadly sins and how they actually encapsulate the things that make us most human. Depicted in this piece is "Pride" beheaded, laying in a field with a sunflower emitting rays of hope and growth unto the now bust like figure. Our pride often is laid to rest by our envious and wrathful nature. Subsided in the depths of our consciousness , in preparation to re-emerge anew. We often left anger and jealousy blind us to who we actually are. We let it attempt to kill the beauty of loving oneself and knowing how strong we can be. So here, we see pride laying in wait to emerge with this new knowledge of self and gained appreciation of what once was and what is now.
