The work is a question, not an answer, a space for the viewer to construct their own meaning about the subject. Deeney’s unique creative process begins with a sketch, which is later digitised and refined before being laser cut to create a series of interlocking, geometric shapes that are painted and finally composed back together. The predefined shapes capture the expressive, high-energy abstraction of the artistic. His innovative process fuses old and new, paying homage to time-honoured mark-making while using contemporary technology to complete his work.
