During the Covid19 pandemic there was a buying spread that happened with toilet paper and this historically made toilet paper a luxurious item. Now with the rise of the bird flu in the USA eggs are now an increasingly expensive item to acquire. The idea for the piece came to me because of memes of the TP Crisis during the Covid19 pandemic and now people are now creating memes of eggs being a gift for Valentine’s day as they continue to sky rocket in prices south of my boarders here in Canada. I thought it would make an interesting historical piece in addition to the commentary around how everyday items can run out or become something that only the wealthy could be able to afford.
