The piece “Ocean View Portal” explores water’s duality as both a life-sustaining element and a fragile resource. The scene is framed by a geometric, warm terracotta architectural structure. A view through a rectangular portal divides two distinct bodies of water. On one side, the untamed ocean, with turbulent, crashing waves symbolizing the wild, unpredictable forces of nature. The water is alive, salty, and free, embodying the raw power of Earth’s ecosystems. On the other side, the water is calm, contained within a clean, clear pool. This side represents humanity’s control over nature, where water is filtered and purified for leisure and recreation. On one hand, it is the same element, but through contrast, one can clearly see how different water can be and how valuable it is in all its forms. The juxtaposition of these two scenes — wild versus controlled — invites the viewer to reflect on how humans interact with and impact natural resources, particularly water. In the background,
