Last October, I went on a trip to visit the birch forest at the Canencia Pass in Madrid. It was a foggy day when the light appeared softened, and the colors stood out due to the humidity. I took a series of photographs and played with Photoshop, choosing the most interesting composition to evoke the sensations of that landscape. After making a watercolor sketch to firmly establish the color palette, I began to build the painting. As a sculptor, I've always identified with the technique of collage combined with acrylic paint applied with a palette knife.
