"Striatum" blends organic forms with artificial, metallic elements. It was created for the solo exhibition Ex-Vivo, which explored environments outside the artist’s daily practice. The concept of entelechy guides the hybrid sculptured parts, Aristotle’s idea of an innate vital force driving the growth of living systems. The forms in "Striatum" evolve and extend beyond the artwork, interacting dynamically with the space around them. The piece features curling, 3D-printed electroplated polymer vines that suggest movement and growth, embodying the concept of vital force. Meticulous acrylic patterns in the background add fluidity, while the polished electroplated polymer introduces a technological element. Together, these materials create a dialogue between nature and technology, exploring how organic and hybrid forms express their drive to grow and evolve autonomously.
