"Tangles of the Psyche" is the first piece to a series titled "Transfiguration", inspired by a close friend's struggle with extreme grief, this artwork explores the fragile and intricate nature of the human psyche by delving into its darkest depths. The piece depicts a true and raw portrait of suicidality, visualizing the sense of being tangled in a web of twisting, immobilizing thoughts. Dark, chaotic shapes convey how the mind becomes trapped and disoriented, sparking the painful journey of registering these entanglements and unravelling them to find clarity. This work advocates for the importance of recognition and support — the importance of a community that helps make sense of the oppressive threads. Through self-awareness and connection, it’s possible to loosen the grip of these thoughts and begin to move forward.
