‘What is suffering? How does suffering arise? How does suffering end?’ In this piece, I've tapped into the essence of emotion, exploring the layers that compose our inner landscapes through watercolor, and ink. My brushstrokes dance in a semi-abstract realm, bringing an expressionist view of the world to canvas. Laden with symbolism, the artwork evokes the mystery of the obscured, inviting contemplation. It intends to bring a profound, introspective energy to any space it inhabits, as it embodies the depth and complexity of existence. I primarily work with watercolor. Yet, as visible in artworks from my collections, I challenge the conventional views of this medium. In my paintings, the medium is not so transparent, not so spontaneous in some parts, and not so ‘watercolor’ anymore. The brush strokes are delicate, sensitive and sharp; the essence of Chinese calligraphy is reflected in my watercolor works. Also, I challenge to paint watercolor on canvas.
