This is a painting I created to honor the artist Minerva Teichert (American 1888-1976) She was known for her western and religious subject matter. She Created 42 Murals to illustrate the Book of Mormon, they are in the collection of Brigham University's Museum of Art in Utah. I was impressed with her story, He studio was in her living room. She painted her large scale works there-she would tack the canvas up on the wall and flip her binoculars backward to get distance viewing. Her painting "Look To Your Children" is the angelic wing in this painting. The light behind her head, is where Christ appears in her painting. I made her in silhouette because, her work was divinely inspired and the light of her faith guided her art. It is believed she painted over 1000 paintings.
